Why visit Kraljevo

Kraljevo sits where the Ibar meets the West Morava, and its name means ‘king’s town’. Just outside the center stands Žiča, the red-painted monastery founded by the Nemanjić dynasty where medieval kings were crowned. A few kilometres further, Mataruška Banja has some of the most sulphurous hot springs in Serbia, and Studenica, a UNESCO site, is within reach.
